Civilian and military participants are welcome
NATO PARTNERSHIP RUNNING FESTIVAL
NATO PARTNERSHIP RUNNING FESTIVAL
Similarly to earlier years civilian and military participants are welcome to the NATO RUN. Last year twelve international teams of the different NATO member countries took part in this competition, among others the Belgian winner team. Military athletes are invited by the Hungarian Ministry of Defence year to year.
The running festival will be held some weeks after the Olympic Games, so several top-level athlete teams are expected to come, being in good shape, some of them participating in Rio, as well.
It is considered a unique event, as the civil society and soldiers can get in touch with each other, not only in a common activity like the experience of running but also it offers several programs where one can get inside the military officers’ and athletes’ lives and their professional world. Also it will provide great chance to exchange ideas about defence and security issues.
